your enclosure’s gutter just too small? Is it not handling all the water that pours off the roof when it rains, leading to mold and mildew stains?
Sr. Screen, Inc. can remove your existing 4” or 5” gutter and replace it with a large 7” Super Gutter. A Super Gutter is a heavy gauge aluminum extruded gutter with a rectangular shape that comes in 4,” 5,” and 7″ widths. Super Gutter was expressly designed for residential screen and pool enclosures. It is 4 to 5 times thicker and 20 times stronger than regular gutters to support the weight of the pool/screen enclosure. It has four main functions which are:
- Keeping water from the roof off the back or side patio deck
- Supporting the weight of the screen enclosure
- Keeping water from contacting the wood fascia on the house
- Preventing mold and leaves from gathering, decomposing, and staining the patio
Installation of your Super Gutter also includes installing oversized down spouts for getting the water to the ground.
Of course we will need to rebuild the back house side of the screen enclosure in order to install a larger gutter system.
your dog still ripping your screens no matter what you do? Are wild animals getting in your enclosure? Pool cages and screen rooms can be damaged by animals, such as birds, pets, leaving tears and holes in your pool cage and allowing for the entry of insects and debris. UV light over an extended period (10+ years) can also damage your pool cage, causing it to become brittle and tear easily. If either of these describes your situation, then installing a pet screen may be the answer for you. Tuff Pet screen is seven times stronger than regular screening. Made of strong vinyl-coated polyester, this screen designed to keep your animals from ripping your screens.
Severe storms, hurricanes, and tornadoes; if we’re fortunate, they roll in and out of our lives without taking so much as a shingle from the roof. But if your screen enclosure has suffered significant damage, Sr. Screen, Inc. can help. Thanks to recent advances in the building code, today’s enclosures can be built or modified to better withstand storms. As you repair your enclosure, take the extra steps to make your screen enclosure more storm-resistant.
If you’re thinking ahead to next hurricane season, take a look-see at your lanai’s frame work. It’s important to be sure of the safety of your aluminum enclosure as well. Check for rusted anchors; the bolts that holds the bottom aluminum to the concrete. Even if you see the anchor head, the anchor body could be deteriorated under the aluminum. Try moving the bottom aluminum with your feet, kicking the bottom aluminum on the pool deck. If it’s not fastened completely tight to the ground, it will have movement and it’s in need of attention. Check your bracing cables or hurricane tie down cables on the outside of the pool cage. These are the cables attached usually to the corner of the pool enclosure to the ground. It has the important job of holding the enclosure in place in a wind storm. New code requires a tie down cable with a triangle type bracket. Is it time for an upgrade?
