With any pool cage or screen enclosure contractor, you should check to see how long the company has been in business. The standard rule of thumb is you don’t want to do business with a company if they have not been around for at least 5-10 years. The sad part is that most pool cage contractors go out of business within the first five years, so that warranty you just got might not be good a couple years down the road.
Also, you should check to see if the company has changed their name recently. This is a red flag. You must wonder why someone would change the name of their business! Usually, this indicates some sort of legal troubles, or too many complaints.
When you ask if they have insurance or are licensed, they should be willing to give you copies of this info on the spot. Ask to see proof of everything they have told you about, such as when the business began and who it is insured by. If there is any hesitation, you might want to do some more research on google yourself. Check the Better Business Bureau (bbb.org) and Angie’s List.com as these two are reported on by the consumer.

At Sr. Screen, Inc., we do everything the safest way possible and according to OSHA standards. This means that nobody will climb on or walk across the top of your pool cage. All roof panels are replaced from Little Giant ladders and walk boards across the pool. Your pool cage is not meant to be walked on and no company’s insurance covers them to allow their employees to do so. After your pool cage is finished, for your own protection, do not let anyone walk on it, ever! 

We use only construction-grade quality materials. In our experience, we have found that Phifer Screen to be the best quality screen produced. (USA MADE) Sure, there are a couple other products out there that come with a nice sales pitch, or a cool name making it sound indestructible but please don’t buy into the propaganda. The black coating wears off of the screen and exposes the fiberglass yarn after about 10-12 years. This will make your screen have a silverish tint. You will see fiberglass threads shining in the sun, as well as ripping through the seams and holes showing up more and more. The spline (the rubber that holds the screen in the aluminum) coming loose from the screen enclosure frame is another indication that you’re in need of a re-screening.
